Bringing Prairie Tradition to Your Table

Welcome to South Dakota Sourdough

Hey there! Welcome to South Dakota Sourdough, where every loaf has its roots in Buffalo, South Dakota, and is raised with ranch-life love. We use local ingredients to create sourdough that’s all about warm, hearty goodness and feel-good, gut-healthy bites.

Thanks for keeping it local and supporting a small business that’s all about nourishing your body and soul.

The opposite of fast food? Slow food.

Here on the ranch, life slows down and every moment is enjoyed. The kitchen isn’t just a room—it’s the heart of every gathering, filled with laughter, fresh bread, and good times. Baking’s not just a passion; it’s a way of life, passed down from my grandparents and mom, now shared with my own kids.

I’m all about being the opposite of “fast food.” Every loaf and bite is made with care, using real, local ingredients. Supporting small businesses and choosing American-made products is important to me—it’s all about community and connection.

In my kitchen, “slow” means thoughtful, turning simple ingredients into something special—like the magic of sourdough, an age-old tradition. It’s unrushed, intentional, and worth every moment.

  • "Best sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls ever! We ordered one of each item in her menu to have on hand for several meals. I am so glad we did because it's all delicious. You won't be disappointed!"
